Full sun in well drained soil with a ph of 4.5-5.2 does best. Plant 3-5’ apart. Does best with at least two or three varieties for cross pollination. Begin fertilizing in April with Azalea food. Blueberries are rich in antioxidants. Ripens June-July. Bears in 2 years. Fruit yield: 3-8 qts. per vine. 360-500 Chill hours.

Alapaha - New release from University of GA. (US Patent 16,266) Part of the Georgia River Series. Early season, medium size, excellent firmness, flavor and yields. Plants are vigorous, upright with narrow crowns. Alapaha has the advantage of blooming late and ripening early,giving it important protection against late frosts. Ripens 10 days before climax. May to mid June. Zones 6-9.

Brightwell - Early season, right after Climax and ahead of Tiftblue. Average fruit size. Very firm. Plants grow upright and open. Berries are light blue with excellent quality and flavor. Yields are high. Pollinate with Tiftblue or Climax. Zones 6-9.

Climax - Earliest ripening and our favorite here at Ison's. Grows upright and open. Vigorous growing bush with long ripening season. 6-10' high at maturity. Berries are medium to large. Dark blue in color and a good flavor. Ripens 5 days prior to Brightwell. Zones 6-9.

Powderblue -Mid season ripening, highly productive with medium to large size, sweet fruit, darker blue in color. Excellent quality. Zones 6-9.

Premier - Early to mid season. Large berries, high quality. Keeps well. Good for u-pick and fresh market. Bright green foliage makes it good for ornamental. Highly productive. Zones 6-9.

Tiftblue - Mid to late season. Has been the most popular and widespread planted variety because of its appearance, productivity, and shipping qualities. Berries are large, firm, light blue and very high flavored. Reaches height of 8-14' at maturity. Zones 6-9.
