use manure of any kind around young plants. Sawdust, cotton seed

the plants. Never put commercial fertilizer in hole around roots.

clean cultivation is necessary so that growth will be vigorous.

order.)
Pruning
Tips: To ensure healthy crops of fruit year after year, the
vines must be winter pruned. We begin our pruning on February
1st. Cut canes back off main runner to three joints. Only allow
one main runner to go down wire. Only summer prune young vines
to set framework of vines.
