This fast-growing oak is known for producing heavy crops of acorns at a young age—often much earlier than many native oak varieties. Its dependable annual production makes it an excellent choice for wildlife food plots, hunting properties, and large landscapes.

The sweet acorns are highly attractive to deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, black bears, and many other wildlife species. Acorns typically ripen in early fall, providing an important food source when wildlife is actively preparing for winter.
