The Whitney Crabapple is a beloved heirloom variety.  One of the most edible crabapples available with fruit that is crisp, juicy and sweet and tart.  This tree not only provides excellent fruit but also is an ornamental beauty for your home.     In the spring, a profusion of fragrant white blossoms appear and then late summer clusters of yellow-green blushed red fruit.  This fruit is excellent for fresh eating, pickling, delicious cider and preserves.  Tree grows in a compact form and is very hardy.   This variety is highly disease resistant.  It also thrives across a wide variety of climates and soil types. It is also very cold tolerant and heat tolerant.   Ripens late August to early September.  Self-pollinating.
