The Arkansas Black apple tree is an excellent pollinator. This apple is a medium size fruit with dark red skin almost black in color. The apple flesh is firm, white, juicy and crisp. This apple’s flavor is very well balanced, pleasant and sweet. This variety is excellent for juice. The Arkansas Black apple tree is also resistant to cedar apple rust. The tree is very hardy and vigorous. This variety is a heavy bearer and ripens October to November.
These trees have a 3/4″ – 1″ Caliper and many are approximately 5-6′ tall. The trees are not guaranteed to fruit the year of planting although many will. By ordering larger trees you in essence are buying time. You will shorten the amount of time it takes for your trees to reach fruit bearing age and enjoy the benefit of harvesting fruit sooner.
