The Salavatski Russian pomegranate is an ideal variety for those in much colder climates. It is an exceptionally cold hardy variety known for producing large, sweet-tart fruit with red, juicy arils. Renowned for withstanding temperatures below 0∘ temperature, it is ideal for colder climates and thrives in full sun. These self-fertile shrubs grow 10–12 feet tall, blooming in summer with bright orange-red flowers.
