The Wonderful Pomegranate is the most well known pomegranate and is known for delicious “POM” juice you can buy in your local grocery stores.  The ‘Wonderful’ pomegranate is the most widely planted variety and is prized for its dark deep red fruit and the delicious superior tart-sweet flavor and very high juice content.   It is a vigorous, deciduous, self-fertile shrub or small tree growing 8–15 feet tall, blooming with showy, orange-red flowers in spring/summer.

Key Features & Care:

    • Fruit: Large, purple-red skin with dark red, juicy, tart-sweet arils.
    • Harvest: Ripens in September to October.
    • Growing Conditions: Thrives in full sun, heat-loving, drought-tolerant once established.
    • Hardiness: Zones 5–10; cold hardy to roughly.
    • Maintenance: Low-maintenance, pest-resistant, and adaptable to many soil types.

Uses:
    • Culinary: Ideal for fresh eating, juicing, and garnishing salads.
    • Ornamental: Excellent for hedges, screens, or as a specimen plant due to its glossy green leaves and vibrant flowers.

The “Wonderful” variety is favored by commercial growers and home gardeners alike, producing high-antioxidant fruit.

Planting and Care Tips
    • Sunlight: Full sun is required for best fruit production.
    • Soil: Adaptable to various soil types, but prefers well-drained soil.
    • Spacing: Space trees 12-20 feet apart depending on desired density.
    • Pruning: Can be trained as a bush or a small tree; pruning in late winter helps promote new growth and fruit production.
    • Harvesting: Typically ready for harvest from September through October.

Bareroot Tree Size:  2-4′  –  Box of 5 all the same variety.
