Eureka Persimmon Tree
The Eureka Persimmon is a high-quality, heavy-producing astringent variety that has earned a reputation as an excellent commercial and home orchard tree. This semi-dwarf tree produces an abundance of medium to large, bright orange fruit, approximately the size of a teacup, that hangs beautifully on the tree well into late fall.
Like other astringent persimmons, the fruit should be allowed to soften completely before eating. Once fully ripe, the flesh becomes incredibly sweet, smooth, and rich in flavor, making it perfect for fresh eating, baking, puddings, breads, preserves, and other favorite recipes.
The Eureka begins ripening in October and continues producing through late December, providing an extended harvest season when few other fruits are available. Its compact, semi-dwarf growth habit makes it an excellent choice for home gardens while still producing impressive yields year after year.
Eureka is self-fruitful, so a single tree will produce an abundant crop. It performs best when planted in full sun with well-drained soil.
