Ambrosia pomegranates is one you do not want to miss out on.   It is a premium, high-yielding cultivar known for producing exceptionally large fruit, often three times the size of standard varieties like ‘Wonderful’. They feature a pale pink to soft rose-red rind and dark purple, sweet-tart arils with soft, easily chewable seeds. These self-fertile, drought-tolerant trees thrive in zones 7-11, bearing fruit that matures in early fall.
Key Characteristics and Growth
    • Fruit Quality: Large to extra-large, with high juice content, making them excellent for fresh consumption.
    • Flavor Profile: Primarily sweet with a mild, balanced tartness.
    • Tree Size: Reaches a mature height of 10–15 feet, with an upright to spreading, sometimes arching, canopy.
    • Hardiness & Climate: Hardy down to 10∘ (Zone 7), making them suitable for both inland hot climates and coastal areas.
    • Chill Hours: Requires low to moderate chilling, approximately 100-200 hours.
    • Maintenance: Drought-tolerant once established but requires consistent, deep watering during the first few years.

Planting and Care Tips
    • Sunlight: Full sun is required for best fruit production.
    • Soil: Adaptable to various soil types, but prefers well-drained soil.
    • Spacing: Space trees 12-20 feet apart depending on desired density.
    • Pruning: Can be trained as a bush or a small tree; pruning in late winter helps promote new growth and fruit production.
    • Harvesting: Typically ready for harvest from September through October.

Bareroot Tree Size:  2-4′  –  Box of 5 trees – all the same variety.
