Plant pawpaw seedlings  in well-drained, slightly acidic soil, ensuring they have 8–15 feet of spacing and protection from direct, harsh sun for the first 1–2 years. Choose a site with partial shade to full sun, dig a hole slightly wider and deeper than their roots.
