Hayward Fuzzy Kiwi

Hayward is the world’s most popular fuzzy kiwi variety for both home gardens and commercial orchards. It is prized for its large, oval fruit, exceptional flavor, and dependable, heavy crops. The bright green flesh is sweet, juicy, and delicious, developing its best flavor when allowed to fully ripen.

This vigorous, fast-growing vine is also an attractive ornamental. Beautiful reddish fuzzy new shoots emerge in spring, followed by large, fragrant creamy-white flowers. Lush green foliage provides excellent coverage for arbors, pergolas, fences, and trellises throughout the growing season before the vines produce their distinctive brown, fuzzy fruit. Fruit ripens in late November and stores well for several months in a cool location, providing fresh, homegrown fruit well into winter. Kiwi is an excellent source of Vitamin C.

Hayward is easy to grow, highly productive, and generally resistant to pests and diseases when planted in full sun with well-drained soil and proper support.

Pollination: Requires a Male Fuzzy Kiwi for pollination. One male vine will pollinate up to 8 female vines.
