Black Spanish is a delicious sweet and juicy seeded grape that produces large clusters of small to medium size grapes. This variety is a heavy and consistent producer. This is an older variety that dates back to the 1800s. It is resistant to Pierce Disease and mildew. The vine growth on the grape is very vigorous.
The wine produced from the Black Spanish is similar to a Merlot or Cabernet wine. This variety is also an excellent variety to grow in the deep south due to it being highly disease resistant. Fruit ripens August to September and benefits from cane pruning
