The AU Rosa is a Japanese plum variety developed by Auburn University.   It’s known for being self-pollinating and resistant to common diseases, making it a great choice for home growers. The tree produces large, sweet plums with reddish-purple skin and golden flesh, typically ripening in late June to early July. It grows to about 12 to 15 feet tall, does best in full sun with well-drained soil, and needs around 700 chill hours each winter. With its reliable harvest and great flavor, AU Rosa works well for both fresh eating and canning.
