Seckel Pear Tree

Known as the “Sweet as Sugar” Pear, the Seckel Pear is treasured for producing some of the sweetest, finest-flavored pears you can grow. This heirloom favorite bears small to medium-sized fruit with attractive golden-yellow skin highlighted by a rich russet blush.

The smooth, buttery flesh is incredibly juicy with a distinctive sweet, spicy, and aromatic flavor that has made Seckel a favorite among pear lovers for generations. Often called the “gourmet pear,” it is exceptional for fresh eating and is also excellent for canning, desserts, preserves, and drying.

The Seckel Pear is self-fertile, so it will produce fruit on its own. However, planting a second pear variety nearby will increase pollination and result in larger, more abundant harvests. The fruit ripens in late September, extending your pear harvest well into the fall.
