This hardy perennial vegetable is a delight in many dishes. Grown for the stems or spears, a well-tended plant can produce 8-10 pounds per 100 square foot.  A planting can last 15-20 years.  Ours are 1 year old plants or “crowns”. Plant in winter.

The Millennium Asparagus is  a productive perennial garden plant that produces high-quality spears that are tender and delicious.  Millennium is an outstanding choice. It’s has high yields, long lived, cold hardy, and adaptable to a wide range of soils.

This variety is cold-hardy and tolerant to harsh winters – but is also a top performer in hot harvesting seasons. You can be successful growing this vegetable in a wide range of soil types – even heavy clay. Millennium Asparagus is also rust-resistant, making it a low-maintenance plant to grow in the garden. This perennial can be enjoyed for 15-25 years with proper maintenance.
