UC157 Asparagus is one of the most productive and highest-yielding asparagus varieties available. Developed for exceptional vigor and performance, it produces an abundance of large, uniform spears with outstanding flavor. The tender, non-stringy stalks are prized for their delicate texture and are excellent fresh, grilled, steamed, or used in your favorite recipes.

This hardy perennial vegetable is easy to grow and provides years of dependable harvests. Once established, a well-maintained planting can produce for 15–20 years, yielding 8–10 pounds of asparagus per 100 square feet each season.

Our asparagus plants are sold as one-year-old crowns and should be planted during the winter dormant season. UC157 is an excellent choice for home gardeners looking for maximum production and premium-quality spears.
